I've got every vent on my map covered by a geothermal generator, and that's short about 17kw if the sun isn't shining and the wind is at minimum. You will also get the benefit of lots of batteries but without the drawback. Your zzzt events will be very small explosions. Give each just a little power and one battery. Break up your electrical grid into subgrids. If you keep at most one or two banks connected at a time, the direct damage from a ZZZT event is pretty small, and you'll still have power stored in the disconnected banks.Īs for using geothermal only - no. From what I've gathered Zzt events so when your batteries or other electrical components explode, are most likely to explode during heat waves as once i got heat wave i got a huge spike in zzt events as in the beginning of my colony i had no zzt events until a heat wave event happened. Build multiple battery banks (I usually go for 10 batteries in a 5x5 room).
